The Shit, the Fan and the Backstabbing
I woke up early yesterday morning. I shouldn’t have. Bad things always happen when I wake up early. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and sat down at my computer, no, rather I fell into the chair. The seat was adjusted as low as it would go: a sure sign that Matt was here. He was asleep in Jim’s room so I went about playing Ragnarok.
Around ten I started to get hungry so I got up to make eggs. Scrambled for Brian, omelette for Matt and over easy for me. As soon as I had started cracking eggs Brian asks me, “You know what happened, right?”
“No,” I reply, “Did Pierre pee on the carpet again?”
“Pam kicked Matt out.”
I wasn’t surprised. Jim told me she’d do something to Matt before he moves out. Matt was all set to move out of Pam’s apartment to Ontario, California to live with his friends Paul and Andrew.
“Not surprised.” I went back to breakfast work.
Soon after Matt awoke, Jim came home early from work stating that he had not had any sleep the night before. No surprises here. Jim’s a union employee and skips about a day of work every two weeks.
Jim talked to Matt for a bit before coming back out and saying, “Matt wants to talk to you.”
I went in and Jim left. Must be important. I sat down and Matt told me what happened.
About 8:00 PM last night Matt was at his computer, playing, and Jennifer sat at his bed watching. Pam bursts into the room and accuses Matt of molesting Jennifer! Jenny denies it completely. There is a knock on the door from some stupid Mormons and Matt sends them away. Upon returning to his room, Jenny has her head hung low and won’t say anything. Pam continues to accuse and kicks Matt out with the clothing on his back.
He came over to our place after that, just after I had fallen asleep.
After that, I called Pam to ask how I could get Matt’s stuff out of the apartment. She was at the fucking hospital to get Jenny checked out. How far is she going to drag her stupid lies? Why can’t she live without constant drama?? She’s tearing her family apart for amusement!
We had a long discussion about some of the things Pam had been doing and saying. She says that she has basically disowned me and that I am a failure for not going to college. Also, she has been having an affair with her married, Filipino business partner, Ray Sanchez.
Matt was still determined to go to California so he picked up the keys from the other Matt’s (his best friend is also named “Matt”) house and we go to pick up only his computer and clothing. He left everything else. Then we went to the police station to ensure Pam had not earned him any warrants for his arrest so in leaving the state, there would be no legal suspicion. There were none.
He packed up his little car and left. I wonder what Jenny is thinking? What is she doing? Why is she letting this happen? I really want to know, but in the mean time, I’m tempted to give Emily Sanchez a friendly little call.
