Rules I Live By
To give is just as virtuous as it is to receive. Virtue comes from earning what you receive.
Live your life in such a way that you should never regret it.
If you find yourself in an argument, ask yourself, “Will this topic matter in twenty years?” If the answer is “no,” stop arguing.
When confronted with a difficult, life-changing choice ask yourself this: “Will I regret not having taken this chance?” If the answer is “yes,” your decision is made.
There’s no point in worrying about things that you cannot change.
To take a chance on happiness is better than not. Even if your best attempt fails, at least you can honestly say that you did your best and die without regrets.
There are only three sins in this world: (1) Physically harming another person or coercion (2) Willful ignorance (3) True selflessness
All the happiness and good in the world springs from selfishness.
To receive gratification for your selflessness is simply indirect selfishness and is therefore moral.
After much pondering, I have decided that feelings are valid motives for action, though, your thoughts should always take precedence over them. The reason I affirmed this is because your feelings are one of your brain’s outlets.
