I Invented Something Pretty!

Ribbon 1
Ribbon 2
Ribbon 3
OK, so I didn’t invent ribbon or the tailored bow, but damned if that doesn’t look cool! I could see these things taking off during the holiday season or being adapted to an HIV/AIDS benefit ribbon. (It’s so hard to wear ribbon and pins while skating.)

I’m still working on a way to better affix it to the skate and have some ideas already. So what do you think? Cool?

Private: Re: Contact 13 Investigation: Is Your Neighbor A Dangerous Sex Offender?

Dear Sirs and Madames:

I viewed the aforementioned report online and am quite dismayed with how the whole interview was handled. The sex offender you spoke to is my younger brother and your skewed, misleading report not only makes many good people like him whom are trying to improve their lives’ prospects significantly dimmer, but the kind of fear mongering it engages skews the priorities of concerned parents.

It is a well-known fact that most sexual abuse happens between people whom know each other, a great deal of which occurs within families. This kind of reporting has frightened mothers timidly peering outside for fear of rapists on the sneaking into her home, all while the greatest danger lurks within her own home. The hysteria these broadcasts produce only serves to make life harder for the vast majority of sex offenders whom are simply trying to heal and grow as human beings.

Why must your station perpetuate these idiotic assumptions about sex offenders? Why can’t you cast out the darkness that is irrationality and ignorance with the light of reason? Is it really so important to you to leech of the ratings of shows like Dateline NBC? Did all of you really get into journalism to parrot the status quo, or to be the next Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein?

Please think about this: Would this kind of dishonest “reporting” make your idealistic younger selves proud?

Sincerely,
Sara Pulis
